The 2nd video I shot of VariCam LT Raw Footage with the Odyssey 7Q+ in full 4k 12Bit 444.
This is my poor attempt to entertain, as I did not just want to provide random scenery shots. That being said, it was only me, and the camera. AND I tried to act as the subject. Needless to say, certain shots were a tad hard to accomplish successfully! But I tried to offer a range of lighting scenarios and a bit of a story for kicks.
-Daylight
-Sunset/warm
-Night
-Artificial light (moonlight)
-Etc.
Everything after the sunset is shot in ISO 5000.
Edited and graded in DaVinci Resolve. Conservative color correction - a few nodes (V-Log Rec709 LUT, Curves, very minor adjustments).
The night time stuff is very underexposed, I wanted to push the Raw files hard. I can't even explain how barely lit those shots were. Just some LEDs and in-camera white balance adjustment for a blue, moonlight feel. And even then, I can fully admit I pushed it too hard, but I did not have time to reshoot those scenes, so you're stuck with it :).
I'm sure compression won't do it justice but the files themselves have quite a nice filmic grain and detail, even in the very underexposed shots.
And yes - my TV wasn't not agreeing, so there is some flicker in the "TV" scenes!
Lenses used - Leica R Cine-Mod, 19mm, 35mm, 50mm, 135mm.
Music - "Stepping Away" by Ben Meredith. |
